LED Scarves

Anke Loh has combined supple, stretchable circuitry into scarves together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration in Berlin.

Digitally printed scarves, with microscopic photos from conductive thread and embroidered electrodes emerged from Loh’s epilepsy long term research project with the ITA Aachen, including input from one epilepsy patient in particular:

“For me, epilepsy … is like a shadow: not always visible, but always there. Something that I can not escape…”

The individual coin-cell powered LED scarves will be presented at The Arts Club Chicago in March 2014 and available upon request.
